Well I don't know about you, but I certainly haven't fully recovered from Saturday's ding dong in Harleston. Not many teams come away from Wilderness Lane with a league victory these days and credit must go to everyone involved as the team showed great quality, desire and resilience in a game that would have forced many teams to crumble. It was no surprise that it was voted as result of the weekend by the followers of @AnglianCombPoll on Twitter.
Woodgate and Aulert both bagged their first goals for the club and became the 13th and 14th members of the first team squad to find the target this season. Thompson continued his fine form in front of goal as he scored for the fifth game in succession and joins Altay at the top of the goalscoring chart with nine apiece.
The weekend's success also means that Wanderers have now won seven consecutive league games which is our best winning streak under the tutelage of Self and Thompson. The dynamic duo lead their team into tomorrow's game twelve points better off than we were at the same stage last season. There has also been improvements at both ends of the pitch as we have scored six more goals and shipped ten fewer when compared with 2016/17.
13 Games | 2016/17 | 2017/18 |
Points | 21 | 33 |
GF | 30 | 36 |
GA | 25 | 15 |
I have also just seen that MWFC have topped another poll on Twitter as we were voted as having the best facilities in the Premier Division so thanks to all of you who voted for us and it provides us with another excuse to praise TH Groundcare who continue to work miracles with the pitch which is still in good shape following the recent bad weather. And also to our very own Duane James, Danny Gaskin and Co for the hard work that goes on behind the scenes making continuous improvements to the club. We salute you!

Caister currently sit mid-table in the Premier Division as they look to improve on last season's 14th place finish. When you look at their results in recent times they're often involved in high scoring matches. The trio of Keegan Middleton, Garrett Ward and Anton Ward are the usual suspects in front of goal but Barnden and Woodcock are no strangers to chipping in.
