The First Team return to league action on Saturday as we travel to Stalham Town on the back of our dramatic Senior Cup victory over Gorleston. It was the perfect response to our home defeat to Beccles Town but another is needed if we are to ensure we don't fall too far behind the current league leaders.

Harleston Town and Norwich CEYMS both still have their 100% records intact going into the weekend fixtures and it is important that we return to winning ways so that we remain well positioned to pounce on any potential slip ups in the coming weeks.

Eliot Altay continued his fine goalscoring form as he bagged his eighth of the season against Gorleston which leaves him one goal behind his tally for 2016/17 (9 in 30).

Team News

Just the one addition from last week as Dom Doggett returns from Sweden to take his place in the matchday squad.

Our Opponents

Stalham have endured a tough start to the campaign and have lost four of their last five games. They currently occupy twelfth spot in the Premier Division and have the worst defensive record in the league after conceding 32 goals in 8 games, although almost half of those came in heavy defeats to Harleston and Norwich CEYMS.

Down the other end of the pitch Lewis Crosby (7) and Daniel Camish (4) lead the way in terms of goals as they look to fill the void left by losing last season's talisman Lawrence Cheese, who joined Norwich United over the summer.

Head to Head 2016/17

Home | Mulbarton Wanderers 2 - 1 Stalham Town

Jamie Smith and Joshua Farrow were on target to secure our first win under new managers Thompson and Self on Non League Day.

Away | Stalham Town 1 - 1 Mulbarton Wanderers

We last visited Rivers Park on the final day of last season shortly after winning the Mummery Cup. Dom Doggett followed up his cup final goal by registering our final strike of the season as both sides shared a point.
