The First Team welcome seventh placed Waveney to Mulberry Park on Saturday afternoon looking to bounce back from last weekend's 4-1 away defeat to Hellesdon. However, it's not all doom and gloom as despite that loss we are currently five points better off than we were at this stage last season. We have also scored more (11) and conceded less (6) than we did during the same period in 2016 when we scored 5 and conceded 12.
A month has passed since our last home fixture and you will notice some new additions to our advertising boards and we would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Pips Skips Ltd, TH Groundcare and Alan Boswell Group for their continued support.
Team News
John Curtis looks set to make his first league start of the season in place of the injured Chris Gibbons. Joel Potter returns to the matchday squad after missing the game at Hellesdon and Jamie Smith is unavailable.
Our Opponents
Waveney will be pleased with the way they have started the season with their sole defeat coming against early pace setters Norwich CEYMS and they travel to Mulberry Park on the back of scoring five in both of their previous two outings. Only Harleston, Norwich CEYMS and Bradenham have scored more goals than Waveney so our defence will have to be on top form to keep our visitors quiet. Unlike Mulbarton, Waveney have enjoyed home comforts so far and this will be their second away game of the season.
