Mulbarton travelled to Cromer today who currently prop-up the table but performances have been improving for the Crabs meaning today's game would be tougher than the table suggested.
Mulbarton started the game the better and pressed the home from the start in tricky conditions.
Smith and Cooper were working the home defence hard with support from Potter and Doggett.
The visitors were beginning to get frustrated when they took the lead after Doggett was fouled on the edge of the area. Self stepped up and stroked the ball low around the wall into the bottom corner.
Mulbarton pushed and pushed for a second goal that didn't arrive due poor finishing, good defending and no luck with the bounce of the ball.
Just before half time, Wanderers skipper Sutcliffe went down with an injury that looked bad and forced him off. Hopefully the injury isn't as bad as we first thought.
HT 0-1
Mulbarton began the second half facing into the wind and were made to be honest and professional in their work.
The missed chances continued, though, with Smith and Thompson not connecting cleanly to really make the home keeper work.
Cromer were still plugging away and throwing men forward and it meant the back four and Tom Wright had to concentrate with balls being crossed in at every opportunity. Wright had to make two very good saves from close range to keep his clean sheet.
Wanderers went on to control the remainder of the second half and saw the game out to take the three points.
