Wanderers let a 2 goal lead slip to give the Beavers a point on Saturday.

Mulbarton returned to league action away at Blofield, who were on a good run that the visitors were looking to end.

Blofield kicked the game off on a sticky pitch and started well, playing a very attacking shape they caused Mulbarton problems with some good play. The homeside nearly took the lead within the first 15mins as a pull back from the right was fired against the bar. This and a tactical tweak from Mulbarton meant they woke up after 15mins or so of the game and began to take a foothold.

A period of good play saw Mulbarton get in down their left with Brookes, Thompson and Smith moving well into the channel. This resulted in a corner for Mulbarton which Self put into the near post area and the home gk dropped the wet ball under little pressure to give the visitors the lead.
Mulbarton were clearly lift by this and raised the tempo and caused the home side problems down the side of their defence.
Some good link up play from Thompson and Smith saw the later drive to the edge of the Blofield box and fire an unstoppable shot into roof of the net to double mulbartons lead. Mulbarton continued to link up well and play at a higher tempo and created good chances for Doggett who hit the post and Brookes who had his chance saved by the home keeper. The half was dying out when the home side launched a throw in into the Mulbarton area and won themselves a corner. The corner was delivered into the area and dropped to the blofield number 9 who fired a snap shot in from beyond the back post this was well blocked on the line only to drop toe a home player to prod home.

Mulbarton began the 2nd half as they played majority of the 1st causing the home side problems with their pressure and movement all over the pitch, this created more good chances for numerous players and a combination of poor touches, bad decisions and indifferent finishing meant these good chances came and went without the game being put to bed.

With 5 mins to go Mulbarton only half cleared on a couple of occasions giving the home side a chance to earn a corner. Blofield took advantage of the space and took a quick corner and fired the ball across the area for the ball to be prodded home as it skipped into the six yard box at pace.

A frustrating day for Mulbarton who will feel they should've been out of sight in this game and end up leaving with 1pt against a side who were on a good run and have smashed and grabbed a draw late on.
